Welcome to Hooked on Walking Holidays and our walking holidays in Slovenia. This hiking tour is within the region of North west Slovenia more commonly known as the Julian Alps. This walking holiday in the Julian Alps we have graded as a level 2 self guided tour. The starting location is Kranjska Gora a wonderful Alpine town not far from the Austrian Border and in the foothills of the Julian Alps. This region is fabulous for hiking , great forests , gushing rivers and waterfalls in wonderful emerald green colour.

DAY 1. Arrival in Kranjska Gora .
Arrival in Kranjska Gora a wonderful alpine village in the beautiful western Julian Alps. Here you will have your welcome meeting with our representative.
DAY 2. KRANJSKA GORA – GOZD MARTULJEK - MOJSTRANA 11 miles 18 km
Today you will walk along the former railway line from Jesenice to Kranjska Gora, lightly descending as you go. A short climb to Srednji vrh and a wonderful viewpoint across from Spik mountain range. Then you continue to the Valley of Sava Dolinka, the source of it being right on the Italian border.
DAY 3. KRMA – LAKE BLED 13 miles 21 km
Today you will have a short car transfer to Mojstrana where you will start your hike through the Triglav national park in cooling shadows of Radovna valley. Today there are many natural sites to see as you walk through the forest as well as several world war two memorials.
DAY 4.LAKE BLED 5 miles 8 km Today you have a free day in Bled or a short round walk to the Vintgar gorge of river Radovna which is a mile long canyon with a waterfall on the end. Explore Bled and its lake or cross to the Island and visit the Castle and Church
DAY 5. BLED - BOHINJ 13 miles 21 km Today first a short car transfer to top of Pokljuka high plateau, from there 9 miles ( 15 km ) downhill to Lake Bohinj. This high plateau is a good starting point for more demanding tours. Hiking across mountain pastures, farmers lodges to viewing point from where great views of Bohinj valley can be seen. Today you will see many alpine tree forests some full of strawberries, blueberries ( in season ) then in Studor village a farmers village can be visited, set in an old, intact farmhouse. See how people of the region lived 150 years ago.
DAY 6. BOHINJ Round walk of 9 miles 15 km A day for rest or an easy walking route around Lake Bohinj (in the summer months one can swim in its' crystal clear waters). You will see the Savica waterfall with its 70 meters high source from Sava Bohinjka river or take the cable car ride up Vogel mountain which is 1532 metres high.
DAY 7. BOHINJ - MLINO / LAKE BLED 6 miles 10 km Today you walk back to Lake Bled through the valley of Slovenia’s longest river the Slovene river. with great views of Karawanke range of mountains on the way to Bled
DAY 8 TOUR COMPLETE AFTER BREAKFAST
Difficulty: This tour is in high mountains but generally walking at low levels or downhill after a transfer. The walking tour is graded level 2 .
Accommodation: Accommodation in 3 star hotels and one 2 star country Inn.

How to get there? By Plane to Ljubljana airports where transfer are available on request Ljubljana to tour start £35 per person ( Minimum 2 persons ) Tour Finish to Ljubljana £30 per person ( Minimum 2 persons ) From the airport you can take a train to Jesenice and then a short Taxi ride , on the return trip from Bled-Lesco to Ljubjana ( Total traveling time around 1 hour )
