Our walking tours are of an easy to medium grade making them suitable for a first time walking holiday or with our Corsica tour for more experienced walkers . LOT valley tour - 6 Night self led tour along the limestone hills of the LOT Valley Level 2
Three famous rivers cross this region the Dordogne , Lot and Tarn rivers. Our walking holiday follows the River Lot through the limestone hills. The Lot valley is less explored than its famous neighbour the Dordogne Valley but it is just as beautiful and spectacular and less crowded. For sure you will see great scenery, lovely and varied footpaths and trails and you will come across many remote treasures. The region is steeped in history in not only its buildings but also in its human habitation with caves dating back to prehistoric times. You will walk and come across many medieval villages along the way. The Lot and Cele valleys around this region are built around a limestone plateau cut by deep valleys and covered with orchids and small white oaks.

The Gorges of Tarn 6 night level 2 self guided walking tour.
The Tarn River flows rapidly towards les Causses from its source at Mont Lozere in the Cevennes. It rushes through this chalky region, through a succession of natural faults that it has enlarged, deepened, sculpted, and carved out to create a sequence of imposing and splendid passes. The river is fed only by resurgence waters, which come from the surrounding Mejean and Sauveterre Causses. Quercy is a large limestone plateau cut out by the valleys of the Dordogne, Lot and Aveyron rivers and by many other streams that source from the Causses, arid stretches of land covered with sparse meadows and grazing flocks of sheep. To the north, Haut Quercy, formed by the Causses de Martel and the Causses de Gramat, leans against the Massif Central.
